Friends of Woodland Elementary PTO September Newsletter

So much going on this month! Be sure to read to the end for all the great updates!

Sponsorship Drive raised $4,485!

Thank you to everyone who registered as a sponsor of the PTO. Your sponsorship will help fund staff mini grants for Fall 2022. See more about this initiative below!

The winner of the highest percent of sponsors per classroom was a tie between Ms. Johnson's kindergarten class and Ms. VanDenHeuvel's 1st grade class! Supplies requested by the teacher for the class party will be delivered by a PTO volunteer this month.

Thank You Volunteers!

We have had 52 volunteers indicate interest in upcoming events or projects. This roster helps in planning initiatives that need your support. It's not too late to indicate your interest!

Popsicles on the Playground was a great success! So much fun having Woodland families come out and see the playground where their students play, but also meet some other families.

Thanks for joining and thanks to our volunteers who brought water and guided attendees to the playground.

Do you have photos to share from the event? Upload them.

WES Staff Mini Grant Applications Now Open

One of the important projects you help fund each year is Staff Mini Grants. This gives an opportunity for teachers and staff to request funding for tools, projects, or resources desired to enrich learning for our students. Last year, your donations and sponsorships provided the following:

  • Guided Reading resources for Ms. Loff and Ms. Bloom
  • Non-fiction books for the media center as requested by Ms. Porter
  • Wagons for the Pre-K and Special Needs playground requested by Ms. Eaves
  • Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) resources requested by Ms. Girard
  • Multicultural social emotional learning books requested by the school counselor, Ms. Range

This year, your support will provide up to $10,000 in staff mini grants. Staff, parents, guardians, friends and families of Woodland Elementary helped make these grants possible.
